4 Fun Ways to Announce Your Engagement

4 Fun Ways to Announce Your Engagement_1

If you are looking for fun ways to announce your engagement here are some fabulous suggestions for you!

This post originally appeared on Spoons and Stilettos.

The day my Fiancé proposed was easily one of the happiest days of my life to date. It was a magical moment that I will always cherish. The second after he proposed I was in a happy daze but I do remember being so excited to share the news with my family and friends. The first call was to our immediate family who had been waiting to hear the news since he already told them that he would be proposing. The next day, I told my friends and workmates but there was the official announcement to the world that needed to be made.

You would think a creative soul like me would come up with a fabulous way to announce my engagement….wrong. My engagement announcement was through the good old Facebook status update from ‘in a relationship’ to ‘engaged’. This may sound boring but it worked for me and I found it to be a quick way to spread the news to my relatives around the world without having to make a million phone calls. The response was instant, everyone was very excited for us and we received tons of messages, it was great.

If you are looking for fun ways to announce your engagement other than a Facebook status update I have some fabulous suggestions for you today!

1. Mug it out: I am sure you have seen this coffee mug on instagram and there is a reason why it is so popular. It’s so darn cute! Take a photo of yourself holding the engagement announcement mug with the ring in full sight, because what’s the point if people cannot see your new bling right. Isn’t it hard to miss the stunning oval diamond engagement ring that’s on my hand on a picture like this. This fab ring is from New England’s oldest and trusted Jeweler E.B Horn. I still can’t get over their beautiful pieces.

2. Do the Starbucks coffee cup toast : The beauty of this shot is that it is faceless. If you have a private and non picture loving type of partner like mine then this is your best bet. He will love that he will not show his face bust still be there with you. I have to say I was pretty surprised that the Barrista at Starbucks did not think I was crazy when I asked for a Mr and Mrs on the cups. Maybe they do this more than I thought.

3. Say it on a board: A handwritten message on a cute chalkboard or a simple dry erase board is super cute. You can write anything you like for example you can say ‘He put a ring on it’ or ‘I said yes’. I have seen some that say ‘I am engaged’ Whatever you do always remember to keep that ring in full sight.

4. Spell it out: Using letter blocks is such a fun and playful way to announce you engagement. You can either place the ring on the blocks or besides them. Another way would be to place your hand next to the blocks spelling whatever you want. You can spell the word love, engaged, hitched or anything that feels right to you.

Now that you have some good suggestions for your engagement announcement, I hope you get to try them or tell your newly engaged friend. At the end of the day it is important that whatever you decide to do makes you happy. Its your moment and you should enjoy it as it is usually a once in a life time experience.
