Employee Spotlight – Meet Mary Ann
There are so many people both on the floor and behind the scenes at E.B. Horn that make it such a special place. Some, like Mary Ann, have been a valuable part of the team here for decades and we are excited to recognize her as part of our employee spotlight series.
Describe your role at EBH and what that entails?
Although I am the “credit manager”, my accounting skillset keeps me on the floor in the heart of it all. Many years ago, I was taught by my boss Philip Finn, that if you are doing just one thing at a time, you are doing nothing. I’ve lived by that rule all these years, and with the hustle and bustle at E B Horn, it’s paid off.
How long have you been working at EBH?
Whenever anyone asks how many years I have been at E.B. Horn, they are amazed when I tell them that despite being only 39 years old, I have somehow been here for a little over 45 years. Time flies!
What is your favorite part of your job?
Finishing up any sale that is for an engagement ring. It’s always enjoyable to be a part of a special time in a couple’s lives.
What is your favorite type of jewelry?
Engagement rings. I’ve treasured mine for years. I have a four prong Tiffany’s-style that is classic and timeless. I still receive compliments on it to this day.
Trends come and go. What is your favorite current trend in jewelry?
My favorite trend right now is a thin uniform diamond tennis necklace. I love how versatile it is! You can wear it casually with jeans and a t-shirt, date night, or a black tie wedding.
Do you have a personal piece of your own jewelry that is your favorite? And why?
Over the years, I have received heirloom pieces from my sister and mother. They are sentimental, and my favorites for that reason.
